I don't like to give negative reviews about a small business and always give a few days to cool off before saying something negative. I still feel the same way after 3 days so have decided to write anyway. It all started about a week and a half ago when I came to this store to change my Bell remote because some of the buttons were getting impossible to work because they were worn out. I knew right away as soon as I started talking to the girl that worked there that this is a person that really has had no training in customer relations. She talked down to me (Im 68 years old and have been a Bell customer for many years) and made me feel like I was some dumb person that really knows nothing about the world or digital age ( Im a safety officer and am well versed in the digital age). She even remarked that she was a Millenial and didn't bother with satellite television because she streamed everything. I kind of accommadated her holier than dow attitude because I knew that once I left the store I probably wouldn't see her anymore. She also charged me $52.00 for the remote that didn't even have a Bell logo on it. When I nicely questioned her about it she told me very rudely that this what they sell and take it or leave it. Never once did she ask me if I wanted to see a manager because that was the question she should have asked but once again she made me feel like I was some dummy. Anyways I brushed it off and called Bell and asked about the remote. They refunded me $29.00 and said that the remote should have been around that price. I chalked it off as lesson learned because I guess the middleman has to make something. Anyways lo and behold this remote that was sold for $52.00 tax included has also some buttons that you have to press really hard to activate. Otherwise the remote worked fine and I thought after a day or so the buttons would get easier to work but they didn't. I took it back to the store again and asked that same haughty rude girl for an exchange. She flatly told me no with that same attitude as before. This time I was not going to be the good guy and kind of went off on her as the frustration had reached a boiling point. I told her she was rude, knew nothing about customer relations etc. and wanted to see the manager. She still refused and all of a sudden this man who I assume is the owner or manager appeared from the back wondering what the commotion was all about. I angrily told him about his help and also I wanted my remote exchanged. Instead of trying to please a Bell customer this character actually started to sound just like the girl I was dealing with. He was totally rude and appeared to be just like her. Imagine he asked me to bring the receiver in and he would check it. The receiver is fine and the remote except for the sticky buttons is also fine. I just wanted an exchange and nothing else. He even told me that if I come back the remote better be in the same packaging I received it in. This was actually comical because it was wrapped in thin plastic. I could see that this fiasco was going no where and was angrily leaving and telling both of them they should be ashamed of themselvesetc. When I was by the door he even yelled to get out of the store. Imagine this is a Bell representative. I came back home and gave Bell a call and told them everything that happened. The fellow on the other side must have apologized at least 20 times on behalf of these two characters and is sending me another remote in the mail. He also asked me not to deal with this store anymore and if there are any questions to call Bell directly. Maybe its only a remote and I am making to much of it but that isn't the point. To be treated like that and have people like that representing Bell is a travesty. I hope Bell teaches these two reps. how to deal with people because I know I never will go there again and will continue to tell people on social media etc. about this store. I will only stop when I get an apology from these two and I have never asked for one from anyone but this is totally different. Its strange with Eastlink and Telus that have their lines right up to my door and are only one phone call away from cancelling Bell and getting one of them that Bell would have such characters representing them. I pay around $160.00 just for TV services and everyone tells me to get rid of Bell and go on a package del with one of the other two and would be much cheaper. My weakness is that I am very loyal and hate to change but it is very hurtful that a supposedly $30.00 remote would make me feel that way
